Trade union working with Qatar warns there is ‘no sign that sustainable change is coming’ for migrant labourers

Two days before the World Cup kicks off, a leading trade union working with the Qatari government has warned there is “no sign that sustainable change is coming” for migrant labourers.

The Building and Wood Workers’ International (BWI), who have worked in Qatar since 2016, warned their proposals for wider reform had been met with “deafening silence”.
